Name: City: Bolton, Lancs Sent: 23-Aug-2005 11:38 PM Have had the pleaseure of playing 'Helen' in 'Out Of Focus' and have directed both 'Murdered To Death' and 'Secondary Cause Of Death'. Peters plays are very much enjoyed by cast and audience alike - and I think the character of Insp Pratt is an actors and directors dream. A couple of cast members and myself saw the porfessional production of 'Murdered To Death' in York in 2002 - we met some of the cast (including 'Mr Rumbold' from 'Are You Being Serevd' - he played the Butler in 'MTD')I also met Peter himself, who was in the audience and I was flattered that he'd remembered that I'd e-mailed him and that my production was on in Bolton the following week! The production in York was good - but I found that they didn't make the best use of the script and the production wasn't as funny as ours at St.Philips (we had the audience rolling in the aisles throughout!) or other am-dram productions I've seen. I really thought Anna Karen ('Olive' in 'On The Buses')threw away the part of Miss Maple but Nicholas Smith (Mr Rumbold) was a great Butler! I'm looking forward to haivng a go at other Peter Gordon plays in the not too distant future. The production was very well received by the audience and was given a standing ovation. I couldnt stop laughing, It made me Laugh and Cry at the same time, Well written and Presented, Brilliant idea, we have all been there , just a selection of audience comments. If you can get a caravan onto your stage, this play is well worth the effort. Well done Peter for providing a breath of fresh air onto the Drama scene. The cast thouroughly enjoyed rehearsals from start to finish and the audience reaction was one of sheer delight. The audience were in tears of laughter and the feedback was that this is one of the best productions they had seen. I would recommend any company to put this on and we look forward to putting on the sequel.
