Well met, Nexy. I was just browsing through The Witches' Voice and came upon your articles. I loved your second article, which poses some thought provoking topics that I'll have to continue to ponder. Personally, I think it's silly that the High Priestess that you wrote about found it so necessary focus on the fact that her TG student had never had experienced menstration, as a barrier to teaching her the Mysteries of the Goddess. There are non-transgendered women out there who, due to whatever medical reasons or what not, had never experienced menstration either. I wonder if she's make as big a deal of it as teaching a TS witch? Anyway, if you're ever visiting the Southern California Renaissance Faire, drop me a note. :) Blessed Be! Revy

When I went looking for a local church or ritiual circle that accepts transwomen as full members I found a UU church that has a Women's Ritual Circle that accepted me as a member. The WRC asked me to write part of my Ritual of Inclusion. So I did research on the spiritual meaning of my name. I had picked my first and middle name out of thin air. My first name Ellen is connected to the worshipers of the Goddess Helen (of Troy) who were driven out by a king who they had helped depose for his corruption. Worshipers of the Goddess Helen moved to England. The Goddess Helen became the Goddess Ellen. Worshipers of the Goddess Ellen brought with them the ability to use a glass lens to start fires using the power of the sun. Such fires were started on the Summer Solstice. Men who had commited crimes like rape, robbery and murder were encased in straw and set on fire as on offering to the Druid God and Goddesses as a thank you for creating new life. Invading Romans put a stopped to such offerings. Worshippers of the Goddess Ellen moved on to Ireland where they taught the Irish how to use stone to pave roads and/or how to use stone to mark property lines. My middle name Betty comes from the Hebrew language. It means Dedicated to God. At one time the Hebrew women worshipped the Goddess Asherah. Thousands of clay statues found in Israel today is a mute testament to those worshipers of the Goddess Asherah. So as a supporter of reconstructing the suppressed past of worshipers of the Goddess I figure that at one time Ellen meant Dedicated to the Goddess (Asherah). I also learned that the worshipers of the Goddess Asherah followed many of the rituals of the worshipers of the Goddess Astarte. Worshipers of the Goddess Astarte had a ritual of castration so that men who lived their lives as women could become accepted as women and become a priestesses of the Goddess Asherah. Further study of the Goddess faith shows that worshipers of the Goddess Diana and the Goddess Cybele also ritually castrated men who worshiped the Goddess and lived their lives a women so that they could become priestesses. For the past 650 years Hindus have been doing complete castrations so that men who live their lives as women can become the Goddess bride of one of the Hindu Gods. So after your SRS if you wish to consider yourself a woman as well as a transwoman I figure you have earned that right. Blessings Bee. Ellen.
