Name: Homepage: http://www.yahoo.com City: Central Point, OR Sent: 14/04 2005 07:45 PM To all the skydivers out there...thank you to opening my eyes to a new love of mine. It's amazing how much you can learn about life in just one jump. The encouragment and human strength and will it brings to one after they have committed to such an amazing thing is something that tends to make the air on my arms stand up. It makes me want to look at the sunny side of everything and make my optimism come true. and to forget the mistakes of the past and press to the greater achievements of the future. Taking the chance at you life and trusting yourself enough to go through with the unknown (it's phenominal) To everyone I encourage you to live to be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear and too happy to permit the presence of trouble! Rock out and enjoy life!!!! Name: Homepage: http://www.davidyonan.com City: Evanston, IL Sent: 06/04 2005 05:13 PM I was very touched to read about Rob Harris'life. From the time that we flew boards together in the wind tunnel to pushing each other around in a wheel chair around the RIO in Vegas crashing into people who reallly needed the chair, I have memories that I will carry for eternity. I think about him all the time, and wonder what the sport would be like if he were still here, and wonder where I would be if he were still here. Rob was a great inspiration to me. A man, a friend. I dont think Rob ever met a stranger. Just someone he had not met. God Bless you Rob!!!!! I miss you brother!!! Name: City: Los Angeles, CA Sent: 30/08 2004 10:48 AM Hi. After all these years, it's amazing how the memory of such an accomplished person stays with you. I recently went to the X-Games. I recall seeing something on the video screen showing previous X-Games. They had a video of Rob Harris. I told the guy next to me, “he was the greatest that has ever lived.” He was a remarkable skysurfer. Apparently he was just as good a person. That says a lot about him. He was an inspiration. Warren Name: City: Viera, FL Sent: 17/07 2004 08:53 AM Hi all, that-you for the great work on this web site. I love the Bio info, I never knew most of those things. Just thinking about Rob and had to see some memories. Peace all Name: Bea Harris City: Manhattan Beach, CA Sent: 25/05 2004 10:47 AM Dear Rob: When I miss you the most I read the following passage given to me by our friend Tom Eckert. Tom took this from a book given to him when his Dad passed away but it applies to anyone who loses a loved-one... "PARENT,while you are mourning the loss of our physical bodies on earth, we have never left your side. We will be your 'guardian angels' and take care of you as you took care of us. It is okay to talk to us out loud and continue to count us with the rest of the children you have on the earth. You will always be our parents, both here and hereafter. As long as you love us, we live on in your heart. As I have finished my lesson on the earth and graduated to the hereafter, so, too, will you, and we will be together. Have the best life you can have until we see each other again." Name: City: LA Sent: 28/04 2004 12:34 PM it's so great being able to read all the great things that people have to say about Rob. i personally only met him twice but i definatly saw the greatness in him. it shined through every situation i saw him in. he helped me on the first day i met him. i was jumping and i broke my ankle from a hard biff. he ran out and carried me up to the hanger and sat with me while i cried (i'm not good with pain). it wasn't that i hadn't expected someone to help me, but it was like he knew me our whole lives. he joked around and connected with me so greatly. everybody that knew him would give more than their life for his to return, but unfortunatly that cannot happen. i just want to thank you Bea for raising such a wonderful person. i have never forgot Rob and i know there is nothing in this world that will estinguish the fire that he lit in all the lives he has touched. Name: City: PHILADELPHIA , PA Sent: 05/02 2004 11:53 AM Hello, My name is Billy Garrett. I an a amature skydiver. I have only 28 jumps. I first saw Rob Harris on the dvd Good Stuff, to say the least "OH MY GOD" that man is absolutely incredible! It's one thing to just fall from the sky but to be truely blesses with the amazing ability and skill to become a world class sky surfer such as the one they call "ROB HARRIS" words just don't do that man justice. When i found out that the world had lost ROB i wanted to cry. The only thing that makes any sense for us losing ROB is that GOD wanted to lurn how to sky surf. So he called home the very best and brightest. My only regret is i never got to meet the LEGEND in person. The world of skydiving and sky surfing will never be the same without ROB. To the HARRIS family you have my deepest sympathy. We all know the LEGEND will live on forever in our hearts and in our minds. !!SKYDIVERS AND SKY SURFERS!! everywhere can i have your attention please? Your "Circle of Friends" had their annual gathering at the beach then dinner at our home on Saturday, December 13. Your friends, neighbors, and extended families were there remembering the joy and wonderful memories you left us. The "Rob Harris Boogie" is moving along with great anticipation by the sky jumping communities in many DZs of the world! Kyle Baker has done tremendous work to get it going. Althoug he never met you, your accomplishments in sky surfing has made a big impression on him. Dan Lococo is helping Kyle and has added the "Rob Harris Humble Champion" trophy that he created for the Boogie. He brought us the prototype for the Foundation's approval. It is magnificent! As always we miss you and we'll love you forever. Name: City: Doncaster England Sent: 25/08 2003 10:28 PM Thoughts Name: City: manhattan beach Sent: 21/07 2003 01:05 PM My message is to those that knew and loved Rob. To this day I have an odd connection to Rob. He and I shared a birthday. A few days apart, I went to his funeral on my birthday, the evening after the morning I had been told that I had cancer. I looked at death, I've looked at death more than once during some crazy circumstances, always to escape. The morning after the funeral. I was running, early still dark out and in my periphereal vision I saw what I thought was a bird flying over my head. I was at the end of the strand, in Hermosa Beach, there was not a soul around. what flew over my head was a plastic army paratrooper, yellow plastic parachute. it flew as if a message from Rob that he was free and that I would be all right. I knew then that I would not have cancer and that I'd be o.k. I was fine. He's been heavy in my mind recently, he shows up now and then, slowly at first and then he kicks my ass and I stop doubting myself and do as he would do, I follow my heart, I take the chance, I live.
