About me:: I am 19 years old. I was born 3 months premature and my eyes did not have a chance to develop correctly. I am totally blind. I have been depressed and sometimes suicidal for a few years. I cut and inflict bruises on myself to deal with emotional pain.

We are really not alone in the battle with depression, suicide, and self injury. We cannot keep silent anymore!! I've had bouts of depression for as far back as I can remember. It sounds to me that (luckily) i've had more support than you. So (in a totally Pay It Forward gesture) i really wish you the best of luck and even though you don't know me, i wish you would consider talking to me and sharing your experiences. i do not feel it would be invasive. i feel it would be therapeutic for both of us. even thought i still get bouts of depression, i know have some tools to deal with it. i wish to share them with you if you're interested and one more time this would not be invasive, i welcome your connection.

I have been threw much of the same as you. And our MHMR has turned so many of away this mo. for buget cuts, I am on ssdi, for my Major Manic Depression, and phobias, Wish I was as stronge as you the computer is my friend , I don;t talk on the ph. much, or go out, I just set here and do some genealogy, and play a few games, this is my day, can;t get the past to go away. my bf hates that i spend so much time on the computer. but i come to play games. i was sexually assaulted at work and no one seems to know why i have changed so much. my relationship is falling apart, and im tired of everyone telling me im sick in the head and need to see someone for my problems...at this time i am seeing 3 counclers, and on meds. it is like it happened yesterday and i know time has passed. the man who did this to me is now a reg. sex offender, but never spent a day in jail! i live it every day. sry if this was to long.

I'm 59 now and a little upset about reaching it!I have had bouts all my life while being told to stop feeling sorry for myself.I was molested by an uncle,which no-one believed,beaten by my husband for many years;he now has cronic emphysema;yes,I'm still married to him after 42 years,treated as an embarassment, because I have been fat all my life, by my mother. BUT ! I have a VERY strong desire to be a pain in the butt to them all!I take care of my 82 year old dad, my sick husband, my daughter who has M.S.and the mental needs of my 2 other children.When I read your writings, they gave me chills and started to cry.WE WILL SURVIVE !God doesn't make mistakes !!!!

I would like to thank you for putting in all the time and effort you have for others to connect and share their feelings. My time grows short and I wish I could come up with some profound words to say to each and everyone. words that will heal and inspire..Words that will cure the hurt, lighten the load but then alas words fail me. Is it enough to let you know I feel your pain? Not hardly but it's a good start.Soon death will come for me and I will ask for only two things. (1) That I will be able to die with dignity (2) That I will not be a burden to anyone after my passing. Thank you for allowing me to express my thoughts.
