I'm the cab driver who tryed to help you in Memphis. At Silky's. Your flat tire. Have a great day and you're doing great. Later Name: Mary City: Memphis Sent: 22-Mar-2005 07:11 PM Well Elvis, what a pleasure meeting you outside Silky's on Beale the other night. Not what I expected from a priest. You are to say, at the least, a flirt! I was leaning up against one of the huge concrete supports and watched as you tried to migrate down Beale Street. My oh my, the people flocked around you and you could hardly move. Never the less, I watched intently as a young person came out of one of the bars, Rum Boogie's I believe. I assume that he asked you for some type of counsel or prayer as you stopped your processional right in the middle of Beale, put your hand on his shoulder and looked as if you were praying. As an outside observer, I was quite surprised, that someone of your stature would just stop and pray with just about anyone. I mentioned what I had seen to one of the bouncers outside Silky's and he told me, "that's nothing, you should see him when it's really packed. The Rev. is totally focussed on the person he is directing his energies to and the whole world just seems to stop around him. He is a very unique and gifted messanger from God and we are blessed to have him visit here whenever possible." I did have a few moments of your time, when you told me that you will be back in August. I am from Maryland, but if I can arrange to come back, I will. I found your e-mail address on the website, which incidently is extremely professional, easy to navigate and to the point. I have never been to Canada, but perhaps I now have a reason to plan to visit our neighbours to the north. I will be back in the office following Good Friday and will try to mail you a "private and personal" message from there. This is coming from the hotel just outside of Memphis. I do hope you have a very spiritual holiday this Easter. And thanks for the inspiration. We had read about you in the local town paper a few times and thought while we were out looking for a new home in your area, we might just pop by and see what all the buzz has been about. We would concur, that what we heard was inspiring, It was a powerful message that you delivered from the pulpit that day. When you asked who was visiting for the first time, we did not put up our hands as we have not picked a new place in which to settle (this is a long story) The folks we met at your church were very kind. My husband got a friendly handshake at the door from your greeter and a kiss from his lady friend and I got a nice hug. It was nice to be made to feel so welcome by virtual strangers. Your House of the Lord is a wonderful place and it might just be the reason we decide to settle in your area if all works out. Keep on doing what you are doing because you are all doing a fine job. We hear your coming south in just a few days and we can hardly wait. We were in Silky's Friday night and heard rumours that you will be arriving to an entourage like last year. We were part of the girl gang that attacked you and are looking forward to having another chance for the same kind of action. A little southern "comfort" perhaps. If you think you got attention last year.... wait till you arrive this year! Have we got a surprise for you. Don't worry we will keep in mind that you really are a priest or as your website says..."Archbishop" Praise the Lord. We are counting the days. Justine, Julia, Anna, Michele. My friends and I have been watching your website and the internet for press information regarding you and your wereabouts and goings on around the world. We are amazed at just how busy you are. We had a chance encounter during Elvis Week in Memphis two years ago, once at the Blues City Cafe and the second time, at Graceland. You might remember, but we were the rowdy bunch of "babes" from various parts of the UK that kept you singing most of the evening. You are quite the charmer an a Bishop as well. AMAZING. Oh, Suzette just reminded me that you are now an Archbishop. Most sorry your Grace. Well now the reason for these comments. We will be gracing the U.S. with yet another visit this Elvis week and the babes from Britain want to know, if you will be there to entertain us. We are literally scattered all over the Commonwealth and may have some friends joining us from "down under" - and Aussie and New Zealander as well. We will be watching for updates so we can plan our week in Memphis. Please post the news as soon as you have it. In the meantime, blessings to you and may the Lord keep you well until we meet again on Beale. Daniella, Suzette, Mary Katherine, Anne, and Robin. Baxter, I was part of the Chinese group that attended your service on Sunday for your 2nd anniversary celebration. I frist read about you 2 years ago in my Hong Kong paper. I am here studying English. I read about you again in the Sun Newspaper last Friday and convinced some of my friends to come to your service. You are everything and more than the articles have covered. I can hardly wait for more computer time to send to all my friends and family back home. Although you really are a celebrity, you are very down to earth and so loving to everyone at your service. Canadians are very lucky to have a minister like you. Where I come from, we don't have the luxury to have freedom of worship. Many worship underground. I hope to come again to your chapel and celebrate the Lord and the freedom to do so. May God Bless You. Also your daughter, I don't remember her name is very lucky to have a father like you. She is very pretty. Jen. I went to a friends house in Barrie, caught you on the New VR and CFTO TV. A packed house, you could feel the spirit of our Lord eminating through the air waves. Keep up the great work. Don't ever give up the dream of having a building of your own. The song was unbelieveable. By the way...the lady known as your church secretary gave great directions. My cousin found you no trouble. We are Jewish and have never attended anything other than Synagogue activities. Perhaps one day, we will attendone of your church services. We are sure it would be a very enlightening experience. You have an interesting way of spreading the "gospel." Do keep up the fine work and may your church "Christ the King Graceland" be everything you and your congregation want it to be. My sister and brother-in-law live in Barrie, Ontario but frequent the Newmarket area quite often. Have seen you perform many times and have sent me a dozen or so articles about you as I am a huge Elvis fan. Last week was you Santa Claus Parade and I drove up from Buffalo to check it out. My sister told me that you were in it last year so we hoped to see you again with your church float. (Graceland I believe-how appropriate!) There you were, just a rockin and a rollin. I am not sure, but there was a young man on the back of the truck you were riding in that appeared to have some challenges! God Bless you for giving him the lime light of being able to sing with such a "star". My son is autistic and I understand how much your kindness would mean to that young man. This took much courage on your part as most people in your position would worry about being embarrassed. You are everything my sister has said about you and the media has printed. Today, was the first time that any of us had attended a Remembrance Day Service, WHY, because our children were studying about the wars, veterans and the poppy. An elderly neighbour told us about the service at the Cenotaph. We did not know what to expect. We had read about you in the various newspapers but had never seen you in person. We are not regular church goers and don't have a minister or priest. I must say, you delivered a very moving speech today. In my immediate family, we had no one that defended Canada as I am not from here. Today was very insightful and I feel through your words, thoughts and prayers as if my family belongs here. I also felt as if my children got the chance to learn first hand after seeing all the white crosses, flags and militia present, the importance of remembering the fallen heroes that gave their lives so that we could have the freedom we enjoy today. My kids wanted to know what the name of the man in the purple dress and white cape. I was told by one of the people near us that he was the "celebrity Elvis Priest" I admit, I was curious to learn more. Came home to the net and started to search about Rev. Baxter, Elvis Priestley as another person told us and was amazed to find your website and so much information about you. You are indeed a celebrity and my kids are excited. I hope to visit you in your church soon. Thanks once again for making today a great experience for so many, expecially the "forbes" family. sincerely Patti, gregor, cathie! Lord, Mr., Father Baxter or just "Elvis". By any title, you are the man! I check out your ssite on a regular basis because ever since I first saw you in Memphis, I have been an ardent fan! My fiance and I love your music...yes, I did say fiance (Cheryl) We had a terrible fight just prior to seeing you perform at the Blues City Cafe and again at BB Kings. We were so taken aback by your show, that we shifted focus. We approached you on Beale Street and asked if you would offer prayer for our continued relationship. Without hesitation you offered not only prayer but some guidance as well. We followed your advice and sought out the Lord. We truly believe, that without your kind intervention, we would not be a couple and would of gone our separate ways. By the way, I was pleasantly surprised when I went on your site today. It is amazing, great color and fab pictures. Good content and easy to navigate. Great job. Reverend, promise to keep doing what your doing because you are making a difference. I look at what you have done for us. Hope to see you again soon. I will watch for upcoming events.
