Karen's Prayer Ministry Prayer is a crucial aspect of Karen's writing ministry. Her Life-Changing Fiction TM would not be life-changing without the power of prayer at work. Many of you have promised to pray for Karen in the past, and for that she is truly grateful. Here, she gives you the chance to post a message, and by doing so, to become a part of her prayer team. If you leave your e-mail address as part of your message, Karen will update you with periodic personal prayer requests. In addition, she will post her prayer requests about upcoming books here, at the top of this website. She will update this occasionally. Finally, if you have a prayer request you would like to make public, please leave that request here. Karen will pray for these requests, and she hereby encourages other readers to pray for these requests as well. If you feel particularly moved by a specific prayer request posted here, email that person and perhaps you will strike up a more personal friendship or prayer partnership. I have had death, illnes, and rejection in the last 12 years and believed God had abandoned me. I turned my will against his will and I was going to do what I wanted, because my faith was gone. At my lowest time, I decided to start reading to take my mind off the problems I was left with. That is when I discovered Karen's books. As I checked out my book, the librian said, "You found it." I thought those strange words for her to say and I guess that's why I remember them. I thought at the time she ment, I had found something she considered to be a good book. I now feel it was a revelation I was soon to realize; a miracle was taking place. I wish I could say everything is wonderful in my life, but I can not. However, I can pray again and I see how little I can do without God's help. I am trying to trust again and accept what God wants me to have in this life. Karen's books make me cry, yet I don't want to put them down. I even find myself taking the book into work and hoping I can find time to read. For this reason, I would like to share two prayer requests that are very near to my heart. The first is the most urgent, and it is prayer for a sixteen year old girl named Faith. Faith loves the Lord with all of her heart and has a heart for missions. A couple of nights ago, Faith was in a very bad accident. The next seven days are going to be crucial. I really feel that God may work a miracle in Faith's life. Will you pray for her with me? I know what doctors are saying, and I also know that God is the ultimate physician. I keep thinking of Devon's miracle. Please pray for Faith. The next prayer request is for a family that lives near to me that has four young children. These children are crying out for God, and the parents just are not hearing them. Please pray that God would touch these children and place people in their paths that can help to mold them and teach them to be the Christians that they want to be. She hid a lot and relapsed 24 hours before she was suppose to leave the rehab center and come home. The center led her a stray by having her go to a sober living home in a rough part of town, conviencing her she should not come home. She has for months now been influenced by a older man who is heavy into mind control and drugs, he has beaten her up, and she crawls back to him, she has been living in a car off and on for sometime and as of last week the car was impounded, her belongings locked up with it. I sent enough money for her to stay in a room for one week, continuing to pray God would touch her heart and bring her back to Him. She was involved in teen ministry and believes, yet satin has taken hold of her. Every phone call I tremble in fear I might never be able to hug her again, I pray daily and ask that many also pray to help her find God and heal with His strength and power. My husband and my other daughter Erin cry often as do I daily, my heart aches so bad it is hard to hold myself together. I have a prayer request, actually a few. In May of this year my dad died of cancer after only a two weeks notice. I have been the strong rock of our family since then. My mother has never worked in the 33 years they were married and is physically unable to do so due to a multitude of health problems, so she will be completly out of money by Thanksgiving. My husband and I are doing all we can do to stay caught up with our own bills, so I don't know what to do. Also my 19 year old brother who still lives at home with my mom, refuses to get a job and help out. He stays out all night and is involved in some really BAD stuff. My mom is in such a deep depression that she ignores it. He has tried to kill me for getting involved in his life, just because I tried to stop him from killing himself. All this is having such an impact on not just me but my marriage and our baby. My husband is afraid for me to see my mom and brother for fear my brother might try to hurt me or my daughter. Prayer is such a powerful, wonderful thing! It has gotten me through many, many hard times. And it works! God truly hears and answers prayers. Please pray for me and my husband. He has been declared legally blind, and because of this it is almost impossible for me to work. His vision is 20/400 so I'm pretty much his eyes now. However, this is just a small thing for us. He had a kidney/pancreas transplant which caused him to be free from the diabetes he had dealt with since the age of 13. His anti rejection meds caused a brain tumor that the doctors said would kill him, but God had other plans! He is alive almost 3 years later and the tumor is completely gone. This past christmas eve, he had a below the knee amputation of his left leg and is doing great with his prosthetic leg, so the eye sight is really just a smaller thing to us. We have put all his health problems in God's hands and left them there and know that God will take care of things according to His will. Just pray for us since i can't work now, so far things are okay, but keep praying!! I am so unsettled regarding my life and I FINALLY realize that God is in control and he has a plan. It was so uplifting to feel this. I am in a very troubled relationship. I'd ask that you'd pray to restore the love of my adult kids who avoided me in times of great need even when I asked them for support and I got so darned mad and hurt that I fired off a missive on Father's Day telling them how I thought they abused me and stupidly ended it with a note that they both be damned to hell and signed it "your ex-father". The rest of the email was calm and factual. I've gone through a cancer scare which was fixed by chemo and just got out of the hospital yesterday after 4 days of treatment and finally an angio plasti to clear occlusions in my arteries. I ask for prayer for my 18-year old daughter, who is grieving a broken relationship with her dad (married for the third time). She suffers from anxiety and depression. She receives consistent critical and blaming communication from her dad and his parents. I feel led by God to move out of state so that she can successfully set some boundaries. It will be challenging for her to leave everything she has known to start fresh in a new place, even if it is in the center the bible belt and is rich in Christian community. Please pray that she will connect with God's people and receive hope, courage, fellowship, compassion and courage in rebuilding her faith. Please pray that mentors come alongside both of us during this transition and that the Lord provide for us (jobs, a home, a church family). My question to you is this. My Uncle Ken was diagnosed with cancer 7 years ago. In January of 2003 he had a bone marrow transplant done. It was successful. But in February of 2004 he got a really bad fungus/infection in his right lung. They were going to operate on him and take out his right lung then, but at the last minute they decided against it saying he was to weak to undergo the surgery. So they put him on antibiotics and sent him home to rest and get stronger. He has been getting all of this done at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. I tell you this because I just moved up to Columbus in April. Shortly after I moved up here my uncle was back in the hospital off and on so my Aunt Elaine was staying with me throughout everything. In June of 2004 my Uncle Ken had surgery and had his right lung removed. The surgery was a success and they got all of the infection out. But he ended up getting a very bad case of ammonia in his left lung. Well this left him very sick again. He was in ICU for 4 weeks, and he lost a tremendous amount of weight. Finally he is doing a little better but still having difficulties. I would just like if you could pray for him and my aunt who has stood by him through everything. And pray that after he gets even better that hopefully nothing else will happen to keep setting him back. Thanks a whole lot! Regarding your children... one will enter into the ministry as a preacher/evangelist, the other will also be in the ministry working with children.
