I was really surprised by what I heard. Reggie and the family no longer called themselves christians, and stopped going to church! When asked what religion they were, Sarah said that they were just believers now, and seekers of the Torah, {God's word} They didn't call themselves christians, and they didn't call themselves jews as some people thought they were converting to. Reggie said that after he retired from football he started questioning the things being preached from the pulpit. He said that they were preaching traditions of men, and that not everything they were preaching was the truth. He was ostresized by the church and considered a heretic and other things. Some people were saying he was walking away from God, when the truth was, Sarah said, He was walking closer to God by searching out the truth through many hours of studing, looking for answers. Reggie started searching the scriptures for himself, {The old testement}. Jesus said, if you want to know truth search the scriptures. {the old testement} He went to Israel and was learning the Hebrew language and got to see what nobody gets to see, and that was the original copies of the Hebrew scripture. Reggie learned how to read hebrew, and Reggie's son said that the night before He died He had a dream. He dreamed a dream in Hebrew of a treasure chest, and on the treasure chest was the word "Redeemed" in Hebrew. His son said He found his treasure, He found what he was looking for and it was time for him to go home. Reggie knew of his redemption. Reggie was seeking answers. I believe what Reggie White understood to be truth, is what the whole world will need to come to the realization of some day. Until the church religious world sees what reggie was beginning to see, we will live in a world of hatefulness and wars, brought on by self-righteous religious people who think they are better than somebody else. When you disagree with a religious person, they don't care who you are, they will ostrasize you, even Reggie White! It's sad for me to think, a man like Reggie White was considered a heratic for questioning the messages of ministers behind the pulpit. I am thankful that Reggie was able to see the light before he died, because so many of us don't know what that light really is.

He walked the walk and talked the talk. How fortunate that he ended his career here in NC with the Panthers. He was part owner of a Chevy Dealership (Victory Chevrolet in Mt. Holly)here in Gaston County, NC. When the dealership opened (2003) he and some of his Packer friends (B. Favre) attended and signed autographs. That was a fun day!! The waiting lines was forever long. Gaston County is PACKER COUNTRY. Ask the Gaddis', Boggs', Rays, Hovis'. "The PACKER fan clan"! Reggie was the greatest man ever to play football. He loved is GOD. He will be missed. Now is the time to tell someone what they mean to you before it is too late.

The spirit of the man remains, as it does with each everyone after they pass. Reggie spoke his mind, in my opinion, rightly, but he never demeaned anyone while doing it. He spoke out as he felt he must. May, that when we are gone, people speak of us the way they do Reggie White. Who will take up his mantle? Maybe it is a blessing, the way our society treats those that appear to go before their time, that more focus will come to Reggie White than it would have had he lived to be old and gray. I appreciated the story by another contributor, where reggie white said, "Jesus is coming. Are you ready?" Are we? either way, it was a good encapsulization of the man: Jesus and Football.

I heard him on WAVA radio with Jeneth Pashal, I understood his passion for our Savior. Well, the LORD knew why he had to take Reggie at this time. I had wanted to meet Reggie and tell him how his stand on moral issues has encouraged and strengthened me. Reggie! You didn't die, you have just gone home to your mansion beyond the sky...
