I am very interested in joining a miniature artists organization but I guess my biggest problem is the fact that I have invented my own miniature art form using stone, and shaping the stone under a microscope by breaking off small pieces. I call it microknapping. It is identical to regular flintknapping only much smaller. Special tools are required to do this as well as months of practice and unlimited patience. If there is any miniaturist organization that would accept my art, please let me know. I think I may be the only one who does microknapping but that does not mean it is any less of an art.

Dear Friends, This site has taught me alot and I thank you very much for making it so educational. The artists are incredibly gifted too - its hard to believe that work so small can be so detailed...! I painted miniature portraits and paintings back in the 1990's, but had to quit because my eyes couldnt stand the strain. Maybe I could still do it with a microscope ( ! ) but even a magnifying lamp wasnt enough after awhile... So this is why I enjoyed seeing the works you had on here, and finding out more about miniature portraitists. There is some wonderful talent out there ! God has blessed our people with great artistic gifts. Thankyou for bringing them to the web, so that the rest of the world can enjoy it, and see the light it shines forth to them.
