I was trying to locate the Nova Scotia Highlanders Pipe Band about the Festival of the Tartans Parade in town on the 20th of August. I remember you but you may not remember me. I was in the original Ceilidh Girls' Pipe Band which was formed in 1949. My best friend was Linda MacKie and I KNOW that you know her from Elm Street. I was a side drummer and then Drum Major until 1958 when I left the Band. I moved back to New Glasgow from Ontario in 1998 to look after my parents....we live on MacKay St...the street just below the High School. As an adult in Ontario I learned the pipes and absolutely love it. I was a member of the Fraser Holmes Memorial Ladies Pipe Band until this year when I became too busy looking after my Mom, being involved in the Festival and responsible in getting the bands for the parade Friday night and looking after competition day. The Ceilidh Girls are celebrating their 55th anniversary this year. Did you play at the opening of the Canso Causeway in 1955? They are planning an 're-enactment' next year. If you want details let me know. I haven't checked out the rest of your page/site yet but I plan to now. Nice talking to you, Pat MacKay Name: City: OTTAWA Sent: 07/06 2004 07:21 Just wondering if you go anything in the mail from Ottawa of late? Hope so... Drop a line some time, I like to hear from all the family... By the way. I don't know if your interested or not but I am working on the family tree in my free time so if there was any information about your end you would like added just let me know or if you have any information abot the family in general... Well I'll drop a line now and then and all the best to you and yours.
