Not thinking, I told her a stock was a "pillory," which did nothing to help the cause. Rather than attempt an adult definition , I decided to just show her a picture, along with an explanation, but the dictionary failed us. Your site was very helpful in explaining what stocks were and what they were used for. Your site was also very educational in graphically driving home just how progressive our society is today, and just how good we have it in comparison with those in the Middle Ages, and for that matter, just a few years ago as well.
