It was his first introduction to Fado and he thoroughly enjoyed it He is of Italian heritage and has travelled and studied in Italy. He always comments on the similarities between our two cultures. Although I was born in New Bedford, my family is Portuguese from the Azores. I visited Figueira da Foz about 15 years ago and stayed at the home of Manny and Jocelyn Goncalves in Buarcos. (Jocelyn and I are first cousins.) It is so beautiful there. My compliments to you both for the wonderful job you do in making your 9our) heritage known.

Sorry we missed it. She also mentioned a restaurant in Fall River that has fado frequently. Do you know of it? Would love to know of any upcoming concerts that you and Ana are giving of course. Thank you again for your help with finding some wonderful fado cds. The double Amalia of course is great and I very much like the Lenita Gentil, "Maria La Portuguesa". She has that "fire from within" in her singing. I did have a look at the Fiqueira website, and saw lots of changes in the town, but also many familiar sites as well. Brought lots of memories of younger days. Enjoying your website as well. That must be you playing, is it not? We'll keep on eye on the events and hope to see you and Ana perform one day soon.
