I used to vist it more often when my chin, Cito, was alive. I lost him last July, 2004 just as my husband and I were leaving for Finland to visit our younger daughter in Turku. He died of a sarcoma we think because it came on so suddenly. He was healthy one day and then I woke up that night and I just knew something was wrong. I miss him and to this day I still cry. He was our older daughter's who lives in Tucson, Arizona, but she grew very allergic to the chin dust so Cito came to live with us here in New Mexico. I think he was in love with me because he certainly made a lot of the mating and cuddlying sounds. He always came to greet me and he had a whole room to himself when I let him out of the 3-level cage my daughter had built for him. She was going to get more chins. I felt such a connection with this little man-chin! Our dog-groomer raises chins and wanted to give me 2 girls and I just couldn't. They live so long and I always worried that it was too hot here for them anyway. But he did live 13 years.... I will listen to your sounds and day dream. Do you have them all on a cd I could buy? I have a pc that has windows xp but I also have several macs at the house too. Thanks for sharing your chins with the world. I really love visiting your site. He is absolutely spoiled rotten, and he loves a slice of Mandarin Orange (do not give a chinchillia more than one slice), he also loves raisuns and sunflower seeds as treats. He has the run of the kitchen all the time, and we let him come out and visit in the living room every morning and evening. He is well mannered, but does not like being handled (he decides when he wants to come and visit), then he will sit in your lap or even ride on your shoulder. He will sometimes answer when you call him, and he can be such a dear. I know its normal for Chins to run and bounce, but Trixie hops as if something has scarred her, like when a cats hair stand on its ends. Almost as if she has chinchilla A.D.D. she also nibbles on my eyelids, I know that if Cats are weaned to early the use your eyelids or ears as a nursing tool, but can chinchillas do that..
