My first soccer hero was Harry Mills and I stood behind his goal on so many occassions watching the Spartans as a young lad. Despite the decidedly 'dodgy' start to the season we 'aint done too bad at the death. It is worth mentioning that the name 'Blyth Spartans' is still known and respected all over the world - I wear the club tee shirts and strip [what do you mean i'm too old] whenever we go off on our travels and the strangest place I have been approached as a result has to be in Nepal.A young New Zealander came over to shake my hand and discuss the finer points of non-league soccer !! Mind you it transpired his family originated from Cramlington.
