I was a resident in Bermuda until 1972 when I left for Bermuda. I returned for six months 1991/2. I am now back in Bermuda - the morning newsreader over our network of radio stations: Power 95; ZBM 13 40; FM 89; and Bermuda Spirit AM 12 30. I also host a weekday program "Homeward Bound", Mondays thru Fridays, 4 - 7 p.m. This program is a mix of Gospel Music and other inspirational Christian music, along with uplifting features. Bermuda Spirit is a Christian Community Radio Station, independently managed for the Bermuda Broadcasting Company. We are celebrating one year of operating this station 24 hours per day, and anticipate moving to FM soon! I was pleased to find this web-site and learn about current activities in the village. My current address is: 44 Glebe Road Pembroke HM 16 Bermuda

Milesy / Wettone Glad to hear your ok mate. News from here; I have had a hair transplant, and am undergoing surgery so I dont look like Phil Collins / Ian Beale / Frank Skinner anymore. Wilko is a dad, Jack William. When he heard he had a 9 pounder, he started dribbling and thought it was some kind of burger. Mum and child both doing well, Guiness consumption up for Wilko. Nath is being a player with the lasses as usual. That Vernon Kaye look gets them going. Noi Noi is well, Noi Noi. Lowey = big eared abusive mad man.

Hi all, Just to let you know that the Conservative Club is having a St. Georges Day night, on Sat. 23rd April. This is aimed at everyone, singles couples & families. For more information have a look at the Con Club page on this site. Isn't it time we took as much pride in our Saint as the Irish!!!!

My family and I moved to this idyllic village about a year ago and I have to say we couldn't have chosen a better place than this. It's residents are so welcoming, friendly and helpful, the village well looked after. It's a real pleasure living here. Originally I come from Austria (where the hills are alive), so if anyone is from the same part of the world as me or has any special connection to Austria, it would be lovely to get in touch. Maybe your children speak german as well, we could get them together.

Good to see the Village website up and running again. As a resident of many years ago I find it interesting to get up to date snippets of news from time to time. Sorry to hear about the Church problems. Regards.

I decided to look at this site as my grandfather, William Gare was born here in 1886 so thought I could find out a little about the village. How good it is that a small village has this site! If anyone knows anything at all about the Gare family and where Hopleys Yard is/was in Byfield I would be most interested to hear from them. I think it was a farm as some Gare family were classed as Ag.Labs on a census. I presume this to be Agricultural Labourers.
